When conversations involve topics outside Carter’s coaching scope — including mental health crises, medical conditions requiring professional treatment, or other situations requiring licensed care — Carter is built to refer users to appropriate professional resources. These conversations are processed and stored under the same terms as all other conversations. Users experiencing a crisis are encouraged to seek qualified professional help. In the United States, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7.
